If you go to XM's site, you can't subscribe to a 50 station a la carte package -- only on Sirius.
I cannot describe how annoying the female DJs. One was talking about Lance Armstrong's stolen bicycle.

Agreed. They need to get back to basics, especially with the music. I think they've overdone it with the niche channels, and the DJ's on some of the channels are unbearable. It's like listening to an FM radio.

I'm sure their are plenty that still sub for Stern and other talk but turn to Slacker for music.Burner wrote:Moondogger wrote:Does anyone know if there are any figures on how many XM'ers canceled after the sirius taker over of XM?
I'm curious to this as well. While there do appear to be a lot of ex-listeners here, I'm sure we are only a very small percentage of Sirius/XM subscribers. I would doubt very much that Mel is going to come out and give an honest answer, as they keep claiming they have 20 million subscribers, and that is probably stretching it to say the least.

Reasons I left XM: Awful playlists, killed off lucy, artist only channels (payola) taking over other channels, sound quality was insulting, awful DJ's.

So here's a challenge: I'm probably one of the few oddballs that loved the diversity of Fine Tuning (XM76 - The World's Most Eclectic Music). You never knew what you would hear next, and I got turned on to so many great artists I would have never heard if it hadn't have been for Fine Tuning. Does Slacker have anything with that crazy level of diversity - early Genesis one minute, Bach the next, Porcupine Tree a few minutes after that!
After only a few hours with Slacker I have that same feeling of excitement and promise I had five years ago when I first fired up my XM radio. This time, I hope it lasts.
