Hi,

I already tried to get a solution for this before (help-web-player-only-plays-1-song-t3524.html). But now things seem to be getting worse.

Still the WMP plays only one song and stops after this. Tried several Windows versions etc. OK, I found the above mentioned thread and used the Slacker web player (MS IE) for a while with the bbiCommand_usePlaybackEngine_flash workaround.

But since a few days even this doesn't work any more. I get a message box that says "A fatal error has occured. The application needs to be restarted." after entering the command. BTW, "occurred" is written wrong in the message.

Please help! I'm pretty desperate!

I'm not sure where you enter such a command to switch to Flash under IE... I never knew there was a way to make Slacker use Flash under IE.

I've got Win7 installed on my computer, and while I prefer to use Google Chrome for my web browsing, I did test Slacker under IE8 using WMP11 and it works just fine for me. I never had any problems with IE8 and WMP11 under Vista either.

If your problems are limited only to IE, when using both Flash and WMP, it sounds to me like there's an issue with IE. It could be in the Security/ActiveX settings, preventing them from doing things they need to do to work properly. Or maybe there's another ActiveX control or internet security program that is messing up Slacker's scripts, preventing them from working properly? You might try temporarily lowering the security settings on IE, or on any internet security programs you might have.

Zone Labs products have been known to cause issues on many websites when their Javascript security features are enabled, and I know that Norton Internet Security installs a toolbar into IE, which might be why it only affects IE?

OK, this is what I tried so far:

Ran Slacker in a VPC (XP Mode) on my Windows 7 system. MS IE 6 and WMP 9 worked fine. Upgraded to IE 7 and 8 afterwards. Still working fine. Downloaded WMP 11 and the same weird behavior. Rolled back to WMP 9 and Slacker works again.

I cannot find the setting that might cause this strange behavior. Any more ideas?

And why doesn't the bbiCommand work any more?

If it's working under WMP 9 and not WMP 11 then you will need to check the settings in WMP 11 and make sure everything is setup and working properly. We would probably need more information from you, so contacting us directly would be the best option.

Thank you for your reply. I'm sorry to say that I'm not able to write emails or contact you directly from my office. But what looks very strange to me is that a few hours after your answer the flash player with the command "bbiCommand_usePlaybackEngine_flash" works fine in IE again. I even restored from an old backup to see if I changed something. But that worked as well.

And, there is definitely nothing wrong with my WMP. I don't know what it is, but I'm more than satisfied as long as it works anyhow.
