Southern Gospel

Will you guys give some consideration to a Southern Gospel Radio Station.

I've made this request in the proper location on the forum, but just wanted to get it a little more attention.

I've created a Southern Gospel Radio Station myself, but there are a lot of current artist totally missing from Slacker. I have also posted a request to have those artist added.

Just wanted to bring some attention to this since the same programmer for these channels would likely be the one to push for a Southern Gospel or at least get the requested artist added.

Copies from my original post:

I have searched for this while creating my Southern Gospel Station. These do not come up at all via the Slacker Library.

Triumphant Quartet
Rebels Quartet
Browders
Gordon Mote
Young Harmony
Mercy's Mark
Stutzman Family
The Kingdom Heirs
Ricky Atkinson
The Mullins
HisSong
The Ball Brothers
The Hayes Family
The Primitive Quartet
Won By One
Signature Sound Quartet
Whisnants
Hope's Call
Freemans
J.D. Sumner
Shiloh
Gospel Enforcers
Down East Boys
The Dixie Echoes
Southern Plainsmen
The Galloways
Southern Joy
Three Bridges

Now you maybe wondering where did I get all these artist and this is only some of the ones missing there are many more. These are all the artist that are currently playing on Southern Gospel Channel across America. This list was from XM's Enlighten. You can see your own list here: http://www.dogstarradio.com/search_play ... 406&page=1

You can put in any date you want, I select December 1.

Thanks,
DAB

Still waiting to get this music added.

The programmer apparently never reads through these threads for suggestions

They ask us to give feedback, but it appears the lights are own, but no one is home.

Hi DAB,

Just wanted to give you some feedback. Since we do not have a Southern Gospel station, there really is no DJ to give feedback on this. At this time we have lots of suggestions for stations, so our Radio Director has a priority of stations that he wants to add and is working against that list. Based on the number of people contacting us about different station, I know that there are several stations that are probably a higher priority (Classical Stations for one). That doesn't mean that we are totally ignoring you though.

I was able to inquire with the guys that get music for the system. They do go through all of the forums for suggestions on music to get that we are missing. I've mentioned in other forums that this process can take some time. First we try to get the music from the Labels themselves. If this process takes too long, then we will go out and buy music. The people buying the music aren't experts in all Genres, so often times they will rely on the recommendations of the DJ's as to which albums to track down. So, in your case, they don't have an expert to refer to, so they have been working on trying to get some of the music on you list. But, with all of the request we get from people, they also can't just concentrate totally on one request all of the time. In this case they are working on getting more music into the system but it is taking some time. It took several months to get music for our Trance Station, and that was working with a DJ who was providing input, so, for music outside of our programmed stations, it takes a bit longer sometime.

But, rest assured they are aware of your requests, and I would expect that over time you'll see some of your requested albums/songs playing.

Best regards,

Thank you RomeE, I really appreciate your reply. I feel that my post has now been seen and so I know when and if you guys feel the demand is there this type station would certainly be in consideration. I'd be happy even if the artist are just added and I can then add them to my own custom station.

Thank you!

I want to thank Scott for adding all these great souther gospel artist! I was so pleasantly suprised tonight when after a few months of not trying to find about 95 percent of them available now.

I really appreciate it Scott.

I have to admit I had grown a bit down trodden after taking the time to post the list that it had not been added. You have restored my faith in Slacker!

Now maybe this will give me incentive to post that list of new age/meditation music that is missing from Slacker!

Well Done! :)

DAB,

Glad you're hearing the artists you were hoping to and are pleased with the outcome.

We'll continue working hard to add artists and keep the library as complete as we can.
