Any plans to fix the smiley quality, or load a different smiley pack? really poor aliasing.

I figured out how to disable smiles from posts. I also hate when smilies over-ride words like 'love' or 'headphones'

Yea the smileys are pretty bad quality. I thought I'd be spliting hairs if I brought it up though so I'm glad you did ekucera :)

It shouldn't do that unless you put a colon before or before and after these words. In fact, smiley code also has to be preceded by white space, so you should never get a smiley accidentally when you use a colon, because colons in English are normally not preceded by a space or line feed. For example:

  • "love" -> love
  • "headphones" -> headphones
  • "blah blah blah: love" -> blah blah blah: love
  • ":love" -> :love
  • ":headphones" -> :headphones

Check out the BBCode Guide for this site: BBCode Guide.
If you really do get a smiley where you don't want one, I assume there's some sort of escape sequence you can use, although I don't know what the proper escape character is within a phpBB post.

I fixed the Love Headphone replacement thingy.
LOVE != Headphones

There are still some smiley configuration problems with auto-substitution.

I used the word "p u n c h e d" in an ordinary sentence, and it got replaced with an animated icon.

Then when I tried to use it on purpose, nothing happened.

"punched" -> punched (smiley!)
":punched" -> :punched (literal text)
":punched:" -> :punched: (literal text)

I would like to see LESS of them displaying, or at least less of them being animated. When I'm creating or editing a post for a while, or if I do a bunch of posts one-after-another over a period of time, the CPU fan on my laptop starts speeding up because of all the animations. Once I go back to reading for a while, it cools back down.

That's your computers way of telling you that you post too much and to take a break 8*)
