Slacker for Android platform - G1 phone

Is Slacker going to make an app for the G1 Android device. It would be great if one is in development. Thanks!

From what I see the G1 Android phone is pretty lacking. I ordered one but probably will either try to resell on Craigslist or Return to Tmobile. Also, you are only allowed 1G of data per month even if you are on unlimited data plan before you are cut down to speed of 50KPS..

I would say the answer to your question is no. The Android looks like a hyped up Sidekick that looks plasticy and cheap.

The phone does lack a lot. Still, even negative reviewers say, that it's just the first step. Besides, thinks of all the third parties, who will deliver apps for it. This movement has already started in fact. G1 doesn'r have integration with MS Exchange? Scratch that. It does now. At least that's what Gizmodo says. The Wrike company developed a simple free syncing app. Here's a link http://www.wrike.com/g1-exchange-sync.html. Isn't it cool? :rules:

I had the G1 for about 4 months now and I absolutely love it. I've been a Windows Mobile power user for years and I can't go back to Windows Mobile in it's current form. Pandora hasn't come out for the G1 yet so I've turned to slacker hoping it will come out sooner rather than later.

Since the iPhone and BB Slackers are in the wild, how 'bout it, Slacker?

You are mistaken. No such limitation, I use iMeem and LastFM on the G1, no problems, well exceeding 1G/mo.

I would imagine that as phones running the Android OS begin to increase in number, they would probably consider it. Blackberry and iPhone are of course two major, established platforms compared to Android. I would expect a Windows Mobile version before an Android version... and there's been no word of either being under development yet.

Let me throw in my vote for an Android version of the Slacker app. I've had my T-Mobile G1 since launch day and couldn't be happier with it. Best phone I've ever owned. And a Slacker app would make it all the better. :-)

What it comes down to is that if you have a G1 and use slacker, there's a feedback section on the bottom the web based player. Let's let them know that we want a android G1 app!

Flycast was released for the G1...I was anticipating it, but after using it, I'm underwhelmed. Slacker, are you listening?

I'm sure that those of you that were hoping for it already knew, but the Slacker app is now available in the Android market.

From http://www.cnet.com/8301-19736_1-10391764-251.html ...

The widget, which you install by giving the home screen a long press and selecting Slacker Radio from the Widgets list, is embedded with pause, skip, favorite, and blocking controls.

I've been using it for a few days, now, and it runs just fine on my G1. It plays in the background while I surf the web, read RSS feeds, or other things, too.

Any of you first responders care to take back what you said?
