script-errors-t4388.html

This is pretty much is what is happening to me, I've gotten the newest software player out there and I went to the site the script errors are on with firefox and they were fine, but with Internet Explorer, it wouldn't load the site.
Any help would be appreciated :(

Thanks in advance :)

Getting script errors here too. Fails on finding this file:

http://www.slacker.com/webplayer/miniplayer.vm

Maybe the website is down?

Website and service is up and running no problems. Something broke in the Software Player (miniplayer) though. We are currently investigating.

I'm having the same problem. I tried uninstalling, then reinstalling the MiniPlayer, but the script error was the same.

Here is what is listed when I tried to run the software player this morning.

line: 2

char: 309

error: "img" is null or not an object

code: 0

url: http://www.slacker.com/webplayer/miniplayer.vm

Rome, hope this helps in narrowing down the problem.

For what it's worth, this problem started after an automatic windows update. The mini-player is affected on Windows XP and Vista.

In my opinion this seems related to some minor changes that Slacker made to the web player.Has anyone noticed??In the past these types of changes did affect the software player.

Please talk with your PM and have the software updates on Monday morning instead of Friday before the weekend. Customers mad at a broken software for a few hours on Monday is a bunch better than many unhappy customers over the entire weekend. Oh, and please fix the software player.

Joefarmer,

I have been a slacker "premium account" customer for about a year now. Read the posts if there is one item you will gleam, it's that Slacker couldn't care less about mad customers or real customer service. Their actions over and over show that.

Tech support e-mails to them usually go unanswered and are ignored. They continually make changes in the web player, web site, G1 or G2 firmware and deal with what it breaks re-actively. Makes me "envision" the company as 3 people operating out of their garage.

Heck the "manage account" tab is missing from my web player, so I can't even renew or manage my account!

Good Luck

Account Management has been moved to the very top of the page, outside of the main player pane. There should be a button in the upper right corner of the page, next to "Store", labeled "Account".

This will only be visible in the Web player, not the Software player.

I get the same feeling. I run a small business and I realize that you can't please everyone all the time. However, I at least have the common courtesy to inform the people I can't service that I don't have the resources/ability/etc. That's all I want out of Slacker- tell me that the software player is at the bottom of the list and you don't expect it to work. I can handle that.

We actually don't do any pushes on Friday... We do them on Wednesday or Thursdays 8*(

That being said, we don't like to break anything, any time of the week, so our team is actively working on a fix.

I'm not sure what you mean with emails go unanswered? We have a software program that keeps track of every email that comes in, and we answer every email. If you feel that you have an email that was ignored, PM me the time/date of the email and I'll investigate. We take things very seriously as far as answering any emails that are sent to support@slacker.com or any LiveChats that come through.

As pointed out before, the Account Management was moved to the website, so that it was easier to find. One of the biggest complaints we got was that people couldn't find the Account Management. We took this feedback from our customers, and implemented a better way for Account Management to be found.

I have also been getting the script error message and the player will not load. Is this a problem with my computer or the Slacker web site? I've uninstalled all the Slacker programs and reinstalled about three times. This has not helped. Any answers or suggestions to fix this issue?

The error is on the URL: http://www.slacker.com/webplayer/miniplayer.vm

I thought the player could load without needing access to the web, even though I have the access on each failure.

Hopefully someone from Slacker will answer this post. Not just for me but for others experiencing the same problem.

I've posted in this thread multiple times already that we are aware of the situation, and working on it.

Well Rome E, this really isn't the proper thread to beat this up, but let's just use the account management feature being moved in the software player as an example. Yes it was pointed out to me earlier ...In this thread by another helpful user.. But I searched the forum for "account management" and "software player update" and didn't fine where Slacker ever mentioned the change. Even in your write up about the "new" software player. Again Reactive.

Then you say PM you with the dates and times my e-mails have gone unanswered? Christ over the last year who knows, because I have either used the player feature to send then (which I was told by Slacker to do) or the e-mail contact form. BOTH are web interfaces that give me absolutely no record of when I sent them.

In all the e-mails I have sent to slacker over the last year (probably 8) I have received 1 response and it was weeks later after the issue was already fixed (with the help of forum members I might add).

In any event it doesn't matter. Slacker is what it is and I (so far) am willing to pay for a premium account toi use it "when it happenes to work".

Thanks,
Gary

The "Feedback" form under the web player might not actually go to Support. Since it is considered to be for feedback, and not support issues, it probably goes to a different mailbox, and not (directly?) to the support folks. Maybe those reviewing feedback should be responding with info about contacting support if the submission is really a support issue?

Is this the email contact form you're talking about? Email Support ... If so, yeah, that should be going to support.
