If you listen to one oldies station, you have listened to all of them. I lived in Los Angeles and listened to KRTH for decades. I moved to Iowa and found old oldies station KIOA. I thought it would be a good change from KRTH in Los Angeles but I was disappointed to her the play list , it was the same songs that KRTH had been playing for years. So one day I stumbled on the another station that calls it self "The True Oldies Station" they claim that they do not play the same 200 songs over and over. Well.. to my surpise I started hearing
the same songs: "Satisfacton" "Respect""Nana Hay Hay""Brown eyed Girl".. Don't get me wrong these songs were great, but when you hear them everyday, it wears out the memory you had tied to these tunes. I grow up in the 60's and I know that there was more groups besides The Stones, and the Beach Boys. These stations have forgotten groups like: Paul Revere and the Raiders,The Seeds,Bill Deel and the Rondells, The Shangri-las, Hurb Albert and the TJ Brass, Love. Songs like "The Snake" by Al Wilson,"Cinnomen" by Derek, "What's The Matter Baby" by Timi Yuro and so on. I do not listen to these stations anymore, I get tired of always changing the station.
I sent an e-mail to one of those stations and I got a reply from the DJ who pretty much said that If I did not like the play list that I could always change.
My best advise, listen to oldies stations online or go to youtube and make your own play list and see your favorite artist.
