Please Add White Stripes/Jack White Blues songs

Please Add White Stripes/Jack White Blues songs

Postby CandyLadyNJ66 on Mon Jan 12, 2009 12:46 am

I am new to Modern Blues and Slacker period. I am not sure if you are playing any blues songs from the White Stripes or Jack White but I am requesting that you add some please! They have some songs that would fit well on your station.

I wanted to say that Modern Blues is awesome and so well programmed! So many great new blues artists I have discovered. I just thought blues was about the greats and was ignorant of any modern blues artists other than Jeff Healy, Kenny Wayne Shephard along with Jonny Lang. Thank you for opening my mind and ears!

Indeed.
Ball and Biscuit is good. Also, I wonder if you can get your hands on a rare White Stripes tune- Handsprings? I think it was a B-side or something. Woxy.com plays it, and it's on no albums I've seen.
Candy, have you listened to the Raconteurs yet?

Hey there :) I have heard a bit of The Raconteurs but not that much. I liked the song Steady as she goes and some of the other songs I have started to hear on the adult alternative station and alternative station. Jack White is pretty cool and Meg white too!

Ball and Biscuit is a great song!

Yes, Yes, and Yes! You should definitely be hearing The Raconteurs as tracks from Consolers are in both Power and Medium rotation. There are obscure White Stripes tracks too, like Catch * Blues and Instinct Blues. More White Stripes will be added. Also added more Black Keys. Thanks for the kind words. - Mr. BeanBag

PS - The system eradicates the word * that rhymes with Bell in the White Stripes title. It wasn't me!

I look forward to hearing the Black Keys because I am not familar with them really.

I am digging that new Australian singer Kara Grainger. I hope to hear even more from her.

Black Keys are stripped-down garage rock with a bluesy bent. Try Thickfreakness for the stripped down sound. Dangermouse worked with 'em on their latest, Attack and Release, and the sound is somewhat refined without losing the garage roots.

Way cool that you discovered Kara Grainger! That was originally an Austalian CD release on Craving Records. Great artist and album with super session players. We are currently playing two tracks from Kara and will add more. I'm looking for Dan Auerbach now that you mentioned him. And thanks for the tips regarding censorbots!

PS - I have discovered that the new Dan Auerback is not in our system yet. It says the CD streets in February. Please check back. I did Add more White Stripes tracks. On a personal note regarding The Black Keys "Have Love Will Travel", it is a near note for note cover of The Sonics original version. The Sonics were a Tacoma, Washington area band that played my Middle School auditorium back in the 60's (the original grunge rock), and had several Northwest regional HIts, including The Witch.

With censorbots, we'll all be cursing in l3375p34k in no time!

Heard a Dan Auerbach tune on woxy.com. Wasn't aware it hadn't hit the streets yet.
Can't wait!

Awesome! I am not familar with him so it will be nice to hear the new tracks from it. Thank you for adding more white stripes!

I downloaded Kara's new album the other day and I like it! I would have never known about her if it weren't for this station! :rules:

Thank you for downloading Kara's album! She is a friend and somehow that seems even more special when watching her being discovered as the very deserving artist she is.

We Added 3 different tracks from the new Dan Auerbach solo CD to introduce it. I think it sounds enough like the Black Keys to please the fans, while being excellent on its own. Thanks to frizgolf for the tip.

A new CD produced by White Stripes Detroit producer Jim Diamond from Johnny Mastro & Mama's Boys called Beautiful Chaos has two tracks in Modern Blues as of July 24, "Spider" and "Wineheaded Woman." Sounds like: White Stripes meets Led Zep. Also new Black Keys this month.
