Pandora now on Android... Slacker next?

Pandora is now available for Android-based devices... will this be Slacker's next mobile platform?

I sure freakin' hope so. I like Pandora, and it is sure better than the other streaming options for Android, but nothing compares to Slacker. Guess we'll be forced to wait a bit longer. :-(

Pandora is working great. Too bad Slacker is slacking...says there were 50,000-250,000 downloads just today. That would have been a lot of new ears for Slacker.

I won't if it requires paying for a data plan. But I don't know much about Android devices ... cacheing content received from WiFi is what I want.

At least in the US, you'll be very hard pressed to find an Android device without a data plan. Unless you buy it unlocked online and don't tell your provider that you're using it, a data plan will be required. All the big carriers are now requiring data plans for their smartphones, as far as I know. Which, honestly, I don't mind, since I think half the point of owning a smartphone is being able to access mobile Internet. :-)

Yep, I hear ya, I'm just in money-saving mode these days. I'm more than happy to cache music when I'm near WiFi, then take it with me when I'm goin' mobile.

But ... hmmm ...

Coming soon.... No timeline for exactly when (yet), but it's in the works!

That is the best news I've heard all day! Good find! Now let's just hope it's sooner rather than later. ;-)

Oooooo, a widget for Android! Not that I'd expect anything less, especially since Pandora has one. I also seriously hope the Android version supports caching. I'll still use it if it doesn't, but it won't be nearly as good.
