New Merchendice: Slacker Portable Premium Carrying Case

Postby FrankS on Fri Jun 06, 2008 7:27 am

After a lot of hard work, we're happy to announce the release of our new Premium Carrying Case for the Slacker Portable. It features a duo-tone leather case with a magnetic clasp and convenient cut outs on either side, enabling access to all Slacker's buttons without having to remove the Portable from the case. The interior of the Premium Case features a soft fabric designed to protect your Slacker and its screen. The Premium Carrying Case also features a belt clip on the back for easy attachment when taking your Slacker Portable with you on the go.

The Premium Carrying Case is available through our web store for the price of $29.99 (plus S&H) at this link: Premium Carrying Case

Currently, we are also running a promotion to celebrate the release of the Carrying Case. When you purchase a Slacker Portable Player of any size, you will receive the Premium Carrying Case free with your paid purchase. This promotion is only available for a limited time, however.

Hey,
Why is this item not still in the Slacker store? Just because Slacker stopped selling the G1 doesn't mean those of us who have one don't want accessories. I hope that Slacker will put this back and will continue to develop accessories for both portables.

Hi,
We will be adding this back into the store in a little while. We removed it during the G2 Launch because we did not have a Premium Case for G2 yet (We are hoping to get one soon) and we didn't want to confuse anyone by having only a G1 Premium Case. Therefore, we felt it was better to take it down for a little while until after the rush of new orders so that we could put it back up with a G2 accessory as well.

Best regards,

Thanks for clarifying that. I completely understand why that was done. The G1 premium case is waay too big for the G2.

I'd like a case that can hold my G2, earbuds, and charger. Would the G1 case be big enough for that (someone said it was too big for the G2 alone, I think)? If not, anyone have a case recommendation? Thanks in advance.

i dont think it would be. Just curious, why carry the charger with you? I have a friend with the G2, and when not in use, he wraps and clips the headphones around the base of the player...

If its a situation like charging while at the office, might just be easier to get a second USB cable... $2 or so from Newegg or Amazon.

Any word when a carrying case (that is gym friendly) for the G2 will be out?

For now I am using a modified IPOD case similar to this one:
http://www.target.com/Incase-Sport-Armb ... and&page=1

What is nice about this setup is the unit actually clips into the armband with a very secure latch and not just a weak belt type clip. This also protects the screen with its clear cover. The only drawback is you have to cut the holder in various parts on the sides to get access to all of the buttons and the USB section.

You say HUH ???? What part of looking for a case for G1 did you not understand? When you go to Store/Accesories...everything there is for G2 & I only see a "hard case" for the G2 nothing that you can wear on your belt ...don't see the "Premium case" described above which appearently is not offered anymore.

Apparently you're using some primitive browser that doesn't have the ability to scroll?

What do you see below the G2 case?

Here, let me do it for you:

https://store.slacker.com/store/ItemDet ... 000046-001

It's there, though sold out.

My apologies....it's not a primitve browser...it's a "Pimitive Brain" !!!!!! I see what I was doing wrong....using outside page scroll bar instead of inside scroll bar. Yes I do se now that it is sold out. Wonder if they will get it back or if you know somewhere else to get it?

Thanks for waking me up !

I did a quick Google search and didn't see this particular case available, though I saw others for the G1. But I didn't spend much time on my search.

I would love to be able to purchase one of these cases also. Any luck of ever getting these back in stock for all of us G1 users?
