Might I suggest regional stations? That way those who don't like a certain style can avoid it if they like.

For instance, a West Coast Hip-Hop Station would have groups akin to:
The Hieroglyphics
The Pharcyde
Souls of Msichief
Canibus
etc.

Whereas a Dirty South Rap station would have:
Juvenile
Big Tymers
UGK
Rick Ross
etc
