I'm very appreciative of the African and Middle Eastern offerings. (Niyaz hasn't come up for me, however.) More Cheb Mami, Natacha Atlas, Maryam Mursal and Matisyahu, PLEASE!

The All Music write-ups of the artists tend to be extensive. But for some, like Azam Ali, I'm disappointed to find "information unavailable." I suspect Slacker can't do much about this other than to ask the All Music folks to fill in the blanks.

Please consider adding some Turkish pop. You can't go wrong with the likes of Tarkan, Sezen Aksu, Sertab, Mustapha Sandal ...

A month since I last posted, I'm wondering if anyone's taken me up on my suggestions. I've been distracted by other Slacker stations, I admit. But would love to know if any Turkish pop – generally ingenious melding of traditional Turkish folk given a Euro-American gloss – is in the pipeline.

Also wondering if the programmer(s) are taking any cues from the new book Heavy Metal Islam: http://www.slate.com/id/2196194/

I agree that some turkish pop even maybe some "alaturka"/classic turkish will spice up this station.
