It took five calls to cancel the primary sub and the additional family sub - was hung up/disconnected twice. I had to check both radios each day to make sure the XM was gone. I will never agree to another company being able to auto-renew on my credit card. And when I started calling to cancel the subs, it was a month before our renewal - however, I didn't trust them not to just auto-renew and then the ordeal to get my money back with more phone calls. Up until the merger, I had been an advocate for XM but between the music changes and the experience I went through to cancel - NEVER AGAIN.

I tried Pandora for several months but I couldn't get it to play what I wanted and was constantly running out of skips and finally in frustration, tried Slacker. From the first moment I listened for six hours and never hit my skip max. Now I'm trying to figure out if the Blackberry or G2 (want the 8g which doesn't seem to be available now) should be something to experiment with. I haven't been this positive about music since I'd customized my Yahoo Custom Radio (rest in peace as well).

I've been a Sirius subscriber since before Howard came on. After the merger I noticed a lot of stations disappear and I suspended my account in protest. I just re-activated (and I believe they screwed up because it only cost 16 bucks for 3 months) and I'm absolutely appalled at them at this point. Since I left, they destroyed the free internet radio option and conveniently added royalty fees to our our subscription cost....directly in defiance of the FCC agreement not to raise fees for 3 years.

I happened to come across the slacker player at best buy on sale for half off so I picked up the 4 gig G2 for 100 buckaroos. So far it sounds wonderful. I'm going to cut the cord on Sirius after the three months and mount the G2 in its place.

Thank god slacker is here.

Very well said -

I was so proud to be an early adopter of XM, but it has run it course as you've said.
I still boot up my Inno in my truck everyday, but listen solely to my Slacker now - time to finally pull the plug.

Thanks,I too have kept my Inno. I have a ton of Fred Essentials saved on it, and I do listen to some live events when traveling like The Open, Dan Patrick and ESPN.I 've also kept my parents and inlaws active because its an easy way for them to listen classical and 40's music.

For me, I have both Slacker and Sirius, and like them both for different reasons.

Slacker for allowing me to create stations which basically feed me songs that I mostly like. Like a super jukebox.

Sirius for the occasional radio programs that tie songs together as a theme, and add interesting commentary from the DJs. For example, this weekend Sirius has a station devoted to Woodstock artists, intermixing actual recordings from Woodstock along with studio recordings by the same artists. Every now and then they'll throw in an artist interview, or commentary about a song, etc. They do it well, and it's not something I can get from Slacker.

Before I got Sirius it was Fm and cd's for me , then having SatRad 4 years ago i was amazed at the differance then i noticed the playlist just kept getting worse and worse . Then i found Slacker and canceled , this is how SatRad should have been but even better . I have custom channels modeled after some on sirius with no dj's and none of the artists i don't like and nobody can take away those channels like sirius did with the punk channel and many others . Slacker Rocks !
